YEP, CALL ME CRAZY!

The weekend of April 26th, 2002, I’ll be participating in a very special and powerful event in the fight against breast cancer. I’ll be participating in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day.

I will walk 60 miles from Ft. Worth to Dallas to raise money for breast cancer. Why? I may be a little crazy, but that’s not why. This year, over 180,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Over 40,000 will die. That’s why I’m walking - To try to do something big. To be a part of something that’s special and very, very important.

As part of my commitment to this event, I have agreed to raise at least $1,900 in pledges between now and March. The net proceeds from the event will benefit Avon’s Breast Cancer Awareness Crusade, a non-profit accredited public charity. The money we raise will go towards breast cancer research and help fund early detection projects.

I'm walking in memory of my Grandma Pruett and in celebration of my Aunt, Treva, and my Mom, Carma, who have all been affected by breast cancer. I'm also walking for myself, my daughter, Katie Lynn, and all the special women in my life who may one day benefit from the research and early detection projects that this event will help fund.
